The MERLIN success story
| 1995 | The company MERLIN Technology was founded in 1995 by Johann Reisinger. At the beginning the trade was in wood processing machinery and planning overall solutions for surface engineering. |
| 1996 | Non-destructive wood moisture meters were added to the product range and these are now enjoying an international reputation and are exported to 70 countries. Today the product range includes simple equipment for the end user and systems for the professional. |
| 1997 | The issue of humidity control then led inevitably to the issue of securing the moisture content of material. This can only be guaranteed with the appropriate air humidity in the room. In 1997 the first air humidification systems were delivered and within a short period of time, many renowned, international companies became satisfied users of MERLIN air humidification systems. |
| 1999 | The MERLIN company was changed to a limited company and is henceforth known by the name MERLIN Technology GmbH (Ltd). |
| 2000 | The year 2000 saw MERLIN Technology GmbH setting a further milestone in the development of humidifiers. MERLIN builds the first high pressure air humidification system in which the atomisation units draw in the air from above and had this beneficial solution patented. MERLIN systems are now the number one choice of customers throughout the world in the timber-, leather-, textile-, paper-, automotive- and electronics industry. |
| 2003 | In the year 2003, the air humidification sector was expanded with the product range MERLIN-COOLER. In the MERLIN-COOLER concept, the adiabatic cooling effect of the air humidification is harnessed. Ventilation modules that look like UFOs and mounted on stands, spray finely atomised water and cool the ambient air. |
| 2004 | In 2004 the MERLIN-COOLER provided a refreshingly cool atmosphere in the “German House" at the Olympic Games in Athens. After long, hot days at the competitions, the athletes, the press and VIPs were just as excited about the cooler as they were about the competitions. |
| 2005 |
MERLIN could set another milestone in the young company’s history. The team that had now grown to 21 employees was given the job of installing COOLING systems in four luxury cruise liner. |
| 2006 | The MERLIN company wins the young entrepreneur award of the Young Economy Upper Austria in the category "Nase vorn durch Innovation" (Out in front through innovation). |
| 2008 | The new innovative company building was erected. The new company building reflects the innovative character of the company and the permanent forward thrust and provides a solid basis for further growth and the success of the company. |
