Moisture is everywhere - in the air and also in materials like wooden beams, parquet flooring, veneer, plaster, brickwork, screed, paper and cartonboard. A certain degree of moisture is quite desirable in these materials and by no means harmful.
In the winter months, not only is the temperature lower, but also the water content in the ambient air. Through the hygroscopic qualities of the abovementioned materials, they then begin to transmit moisture to the ambient air. Cracks, shrinkage, swelling of joints or cambering result from this. The consequences are unpleasant and cost-intensive.
